I don’t understand what the scam is. I got the above email today but when I replied immediately, didn’t get a reply back.
What is the scam ?
We know it is a scam because it was sent to our honeypot address – an Email address not associated with a real person, even the domain does not have an associated website. The Email account has never been used to register with a website, so we know saying they found us on LinkedIn is a lie. We know they are using Email addresses scraped from various forums, websites and hacked accounts, for that is where we placed our honeypot.
We do not know how this would proceed if they did reply but based on what we have seen in the past, they would likely pretend to be doing a shipment, for which you will earn a large sum of money. However there will be a problem like customs duty that needs to be paid. If you pay that, you lose your money.
I got this message today also. Reading your comment I realized there are too many ways to cedeive desperate people of the world into being collapsed. Thanks for warning.
