“THE PROJECT RE-BUILD IRAQ”
Now that we are at the post COVID-19 era in Iraq, much emphasis in
Iraq has turned to rebuilding a stable, viable and vibrant economy,
the source of funds to be utilized for this rebuilding projects are
from World Bank and The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
The Iraq government consensus effort been made at this critical period
in revamping all sectors of the New Iraq has lead the Iraqi government
at this post COVID-19 era to establish and initiate the Private Sector
Development Trust Fund(PSDTF) for Iraq, this trust fund is to be
utilized to encourage job growth and additional investment in all
critical projects in “THE PROJECT RE-BUILD IRAQ” initiative/program;
this program “THE PROJECT RE-BUILD IRAQ” mostly entails
re-construction, re-organization, re-building and re-equipping every
sector in Iraq, in this light a Multi-Donor trust fund was established
specifically for funding of this program “THE PROJECT RE-BUILD IRAQ”
by name the Private Sector Development Trust Fund(PSDTF) this trust
fund has an initial funding of US$750m from the World Bank for
capacity re-building, re-organization, re-engineering, re-equipping
and re-construction of all critical sectors of Iraq, with an
additional funding of an extra US$850m received from The Asian
Infrastructure Investment Bank(AIIB) to broaden the scope and focus of
more support for the Private Sector Development Trust Fund(PSDTF) for
more developmental projects to kick off with a final disbursement date
of 30th October, 2024.
I have been seconded from my position as the registrar at the
Technical College of Management, Middle Technical University, Baghdad
– Iraq, to the Iraq Reconstruction Management Office(IRMO) as the new
Team Lead and to superintends the newly created Emergency
Procurement Unit, my team and i have have been mandated by our
