CONTROL GROUP NEWSLETTER – APRIL 2023
GENERAL UPDATE
Just a short note this month as Diny, Rachael and the IT team are
working incredibly hard to put everything in place for the relaunch of
our improved system. It is a massive task and taking far longer than
we hoped, but we HAVE to get it right, because our study will continue
for many years and several generations.
The new database system is being created separately from the current
one, so you will not see any disruption there, but the wiki is a blog
system and we are revamping it live and therefore you may occasionally
get broken links, for which we apologise. Please do get in touch with
us if you find one and we will fix it asap.
ASSOCIATE STEERING MEETING – 25TH APRIL 8PM GMT+1.
As a cooperative we look to our Associate members for feedback on
what Control Group has done so far and suggestions for what we could
do better going forward.
If you are an Associate member of the cooperative, we invite you to
participate in our first steering meeting on the 25th April 2023 at
8pm GMT+1 where we welcome your thoughts.
To pre-register for this meeting please log in to your Control Group
account, choose ASSOCIATES from the top menu, scroll down to Associate
Discounts, click the link and you will find a listing of Associate
only events and their preregister links.
If you have specific questions you’d like to ask or suggestions you’d
like to give us prior to the zoom, this would be useful for us when
creating the agenda so please submit any queries and subjects for

CALL TO ACTION FOR BLOOD SUPPLY
Control Group have joined with an international group of Patient
Rights and Medical Autonomy Advocates.
THE ALLIANCE OF BLOOD COOPERATIVE
The ABC have created a document for you to email to your state
legislative officials, MPs, or government officials in charge of
drafting laws in your area worldwide!
It is imperative laws are created to protect personal choice and
patient rights regarding blood donation.

Add your name and email address and SIGN
Submit
Download as a PDF, attach to an email and send to all the
legislators you added
Follow up with calls / emails to make sure we are heard.
CRYPTO CHAT
I will be honest – Rachael and Diny have little knowledge of crypto,
but we know that it is a hot topic at the moment and so when we had
the opportunity to record a conversation with Sam X from Crypto Café,
we passed the honour onto our IT guy Dez.
Sam will be running a community Q&A event for us in May, so why not
watch his fascinating conversation with Dez and then get your
questions ready to put to him next month.

COME AND HAVE A CHAT
OUR SHARING AND CARING SUPPORT CHATS with the founders and our lovely
host Badria are informal zooms which are held twice each week at
different times, to ensure each time-zone has a chance to attend.
They are a place where you can drop in and make friends, ask
questions, share what is happening where you are and receive support
from a lovely community of regulars and newcomers. The conversation is
uncensored, and a typical session can start with a bit of sharing and
updates from different countries, and then go from topics as serious
as loneliness, trauma and medical concerns, to pets, cooking tips and
hilarious life-experiences – from sadness to laughter and a whole host
of other emotions.
We really recommend these sessions for anyone who would like to make
wonderful connections with ‘like-minded’ people from around the world.
And from our perspective, these chats are a vital aspect of
understanding what is currently happening outside of the UK (and what
the news does not tell us), which is vital for the progress of the
Control Group.

INFECTED BLOOD AUSTRALIA
We are all so caught up in the COVID loop that it is easy to forget
that there have been serious medical misdemeanours in the past that
have not been remedied. One such example is the Hepatitis C infected
blood scandal of the 1980s.
We had the honour of talking to the president of Infected Blood
Australia, Charles Mackenzie last week about how he has been fighting
for 30 years for recognition and help for those who were affected.

KIM KNIGHT – ‘The Bigger Picture’
For the past year Kim has been preparing a ground-breaking video
series which launched last week called The Bigger Picture.
The goal of the series is to help people understand the much MUCH
bigger picture of human history so that the crises of now can be set
in context and fully comprehended
Without this understanding, we are in the dark.
Wisdom teachers over the ages say we will continue to flail around
failing to find solutions if we do not understand the deeper esoteric
reasons for humanity’s problems.
With the right understanding, the right solutions become clear, and
success is assured, as long as we implement the solutions.
