Subject: Nigel@brendinghat.com,LAST & FINAL WARNING NOTICE!!!

Hello Nigel@brendinghat.com,

I am largely aware of the very high and alarming rate of fraud
going on around the whole world and a message like this will
definitely bring up thoughts into the mind of anybody about the
veracity of the information below and knowing that I just located
you and we haven’t really met each other before now.

I am contacting you because you share the same last name with a
deceased client of mine who died with his family a few years ago.
He left behind a lot of bank deposits with no will to mention a
next of kin and I have sold a few of his properties which
deposits have been made into his account here in London. As his
recognized attorney, his bank has issued me a notice to provide
his next-of-kin within a short time.

Please get back to me ASAP as I want to know if you are in anyway
related to my late client. Please stay safe and protect yourself
from this corona virus plague.

Best regards,

Bar.Anthony Bartels

  1. I have received the same e-mail (except with my e-mail address of course), same text, and all that.
There is a legit law firm by that name, run by an Anthony Bartels. This is not from that law firm, originating and reply addresses do not belong to that law firm.

As an aside, there is a scammer claiming to be from Apple Support. He is using caller ID spoofing, in this case using the same phone number as the real Apple Support.

  2. Is this something Anthony Bartles or the United Nations (un.org was on the return address) should take action on? I cannot beleive scamers, even with spoofed addresses, are not transparent to the DHS. And don’t say they’re too small a potato. I have seen some pretty small potatoes being persecuted in this country.

  3. Received the same email at my work email no less! Can’t believe this email user hasn’t been tracked down and prosecuted by now. How they are even able to get away with a legitimate UN.ORG email extension is beyond the pale. Hope it’s not some dodgy country scamming people out of their money with some even dodgier London money rerouting business.

  4. If it is the same scammer, he/she is still at work. I received a similar message today supposedly from Bartels about a deceased client who left behind considerable assets but with no will nor designated heir. I haven’t bothered to count how many of such messages I have received over the years. If any of them were true, I would be so rich by now.

    1. I really thought i one thecjackpot. im glad i searched online and found scam . Ill just keep preying for now .
