  1. Can’t directly contact Amazon. Had to make up a reason to get them to call. They were prickly about the whole deal.

  2. I assumed it was a scam when it arrived in my email box this morning. However, concerned that a credit card had been compromised, I ran a search of the name and address and found your site. Thank you for this. Are you collecting originating addresses for the scam email?

    1. Thank you for your comment, it makes the effort worthwhile knowing we have helped someone.

The premise behind our website is that we have managed to get a batch of honeypot Email addresses scraped onto some “dodgy” lists. We have full control of the domains involved, and run our own mail servers, so we know when an Email arrives from Amazon it will be fake. Our account has never registered with any site, let alone Amazon.

Consequently, we are unable to publish Emails from any other source. We have no way of knowing if the Email was a legitimate mailing or not.

You are welcome to post your version of the above Email in the comments though – the variations help with the search engines. We reserve the right to redact the address though.

  3. Thank you for this information. I have forwarded this to Amazon, but nice to have confirmation of my suspicion this was a scam. Same name and address used.

  4. got one this morning…..to a David banns in Florida for a laptop. from Amazon supposedly…i deleted the whole scam…shameful

  5. I reported it to the FBI and told the scammer I reported it. These people suck. I get at least two of these a week!
