I recieved the following email which I did not respond too:

I am 59 years old and I was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer for about two years, immediately after the death of my husband, Lucas Fischer ; who has left me every family responsibility. We owned an import/export company which operated in the UK, Africa and in china I have been touched by God to donate from what I have inherited from my late husband to you for the good work of God, rather than allow my relatives to use my husband hard earned funds ungodly, since we had no kids to inherit them. I have presently been diagnosed to have the covid19 virus. Things are not too fine with my health.
Please pray that the good Lord forgive me my sins. I have asked God to forgive me and I believe He has because He is a
merciful God.I will be going in for an operation in less than a month and I’ll want you to stand as the beneficiary to the
account of my late husband in the United Kingdom. Also to the motherless and less privilege and also for the assistance of the widows.

I got the SAME email. SO sad people do this. I hope know one falls for it.
I got it too. My dad always said if something sounded too good to be true, then it probably is.
They did a great job making it look real though.
I knew it was a scam immediately so obviously didn’t respond, but out of curiosity did a Google search and came upon this site.

I guess with the virus now they can just jump to “deceased”
I just got this same email! Obviously there are some things that stand out as to this being a scam. Why is he using a personal email address and not one of the law firm if he’s a lawyer? And for such a formal email why is the format completely unprofessional? Anyways – thought I would share my thoughts in it too!

There is no indication of the name of the deceased anywhere; nor is the contact information included anywhere in the email.
I received the same email. I did reply asking to never contact me again but I had my name and number attached to the email. I hope they cant do anything with that.
I received the exact same email. I knew it was fake but just wanted to see how quickly I could find out that it was indeed fake.

I got this one today.
Thank you for the email. I sincerely apologize for the late response, i have been battling with the requirements for the transfer, to make sure all documents are transferred to your name. I will break it down for you, the best way i can. Mrs Fischer made up her mind to give her money to charity, while having trust issues with big non-governmental organizations establishments she could donate to, friends and relatives. She wants to trust you with her money. Which definitely sounds strange, she once asked me “What if she donates all this to jimmy, her pet. she saw the shock in my eyes, and didn’t continue with the discussion. She’s lonely and i presume her ailment also makes her feel she can’t get better. I don’t know what the doctors told her.
The Citibank here in the UK has persistently told her to name a beneficiary due to the fact that the account has been non-operational with huge sums derived from selling of their investments and estate.
We have to try our best to ensure we at least make her happy with the progress of things. She is going to name you the beneficiary to these funds, that means you’ll be in control of over 16 million dollars, asides your 20% as agreed by her. I can assist you with a workable plan to disburse these funds to the needy according to her will. Thank you for accepting her request. even though it seems she made a random selection.
